Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari, while welcoming Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Siliguri, launched a scathing attack on the Mamata Banerjee-led government, alleging widespread corruption and mistreatment of citizens. Adhikari highlighted the issue of torture inflicted on people and specifically pointed out a significant irregularity in the appointment of 421 teachers in the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), stating, "there has been a big scam in the appointment... in violation of the rules of the School Service Commission, which includes Anit Thapa, Arup Biswas, and Partha Bhowmik."

Furthermore, Adhikari vowed that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assumes power, it will institute a "Sangrami Allowance" for BJP workers falsely implicated in cases. Allegations against State Irrigation Minister and Trinamool Congress candidate from Barrackpore Lok Sabha, Partha Bhowmik, intensified as Adhikari accused him of involvement in recruitment corruption in North Bengal. Responding to these allegations, Bhowmik asserted his innocence and expressed intent to file a defamation case, stating, "his clean image has been tarnished but the people of Barrackpore know what Parth Bhowmik is."
